How to Listen
The moment stood
balanced
The moment was
suspended
by tenuous breath
and hope
and fear
The moment was
a fulcrum
a catalyst
a spell
Its liminality unrealized
Until the threshold breached
But
to pause
to inhabit the space
just before gravity takes hold.
The grain of sand.
The pebble.
The avalanche.
